Parking at a PreFlight airport garage and not sure where to get started? You’re not alone! Many customers aren't sure how to reserve a parking spot. Others want to be sure they’re getting all the parking points they can with each purchase.
In this post, we’ll give you some tips on how to maximize your PreFlight experience. By following these recommendations, you can streamline your parking experience and minimize any potential hassles—allowing you to start your trip with ease and peace of mind.
The best way to reserve your parking spot is online or through the PreFlight Airport Parking App. Once you have made your reservation, you'll get a barcode to scan at the entrance. One advantage to using the App is that you don't have to print your barcode and risk losing it. You can make reservations up to 6 months in advance or an hour before your arrival time; the earlier you book the cheaper your trip will be.
A good rule of thumb is to arrive at PreFlight two and a half hours before your plane departs. The TSA recommends arriving two hours before your flight to go through security, and it takes 5-15 minutes for the shuttle to reach the airport; shuttles run every 5-10 minutes. Two and a half hours will give you more than enough time to enjoy a stress-free departure.
But how long will it take to get back to PreFlight when you return? If you don’t have any checked bags, we recommend giving yourself 45 minutes. If you do have checked bags, bump it up to an hour. And if you’re traveling during the holidays, make it at least an hour and 45 minutes to accommodate increased traffic.
PreFlight customers can enter the facility at any time on the day your reservation starts. We recommend coming 5-10 minutes before the time scheduled for your reservation. This will allow you to find a parking spot, pull out your luggage, and catch one of our shuttles to the airport.
We have all parked somewhere, walked away, and forgotten where the car is parked. Take a photo of the level or space markers with your phone, especially if you have a long trip planned.
PreFlight offers free shuttle service to and from the airport. At our ATL and BOS locations, shuttles will pick you up at your car. At ORD and PHX customers will need to go to the lobby on the ground floor. When arriving back from your trip, call the facility for the shuttle to pick you up. You can track the shuttles in real time on both the app and web so you’re always in the loop.
Many customers have come back to find a flat tire or a dead battery. If you find a flat or your car won't start, contact a staff member right away. We will be happy to inflate your tire or give you a jump to get you back on the road.
If you love to travel, we recommend taking advantage of our reward program, where you can use your points to get free parking days, car washes, earn miles for American Airlines or United Airlines, or upgraded parking! To get started, sign up for an account on the PreFlight website or mobile app. You will earn points every time you park at a PreFlight garage.
Got a delayed flight or an extended vacation? You can’t adjust your reservation after you've parked. But no worries! Just leave when you’re ready and we’ll charge you for the extra time at the exit lane. There are no penalty fees, and you’ll pay the same reservation rate for any additional time.
